In the scrap metal recycling industry, factory floor space is at a premium, yet traditional large-scale balers often require dozens of square meters for installation. The 160-ton side-discharge hydraulic metal baler was developed specifically to address this challenge; designed for operations with limited space, it features a compact footprint and a side-tipping discharge mechanism that seamlessly integrates compression and ejection, delivering an impressive 160 tons of compressive force within a minimal area.
The unit comes standard with a custom-sized compact compression chamber (1200 × 700 × 600 mm) that ensures high loading efficiency. Paired with a regular octagonal forming chamber, it compresses loose, disordered scrap metal into uniform bales featuring a regular octagonal cross-section and a 300 mm width across the flats. These octagonal bales offer structural stability, ease of stacking, high density, and high iron purity, making them the ideal form for furnace charging in foundries and for long-distance container transport.

The above parameters are for reference only. The balers can be customized.
1. 160-Ton Main Cylinder Thrust: The hydraulic system utilizes branded pumps and integrated valve blocks, ensuring high-density compression that significantly increases bale density and reduces transportation costs.
2. Compact Compression Chamber: The 1200×700×600mm chamber features a small footprint, making it ideal for small-to-medium-sized scrap metal yards while minimizing equipment investment and facility modification costs.
3. Side-Discharge Design: Ensures smooth bale ejection; bales automatically tip out onto the ground, eliminating the need for manual unloading. The process is rapid and can be operated by a single person.
4. Regular Octagonal Bales: With an octagonal cross-section (300mm across the flats), the bales interlock tightly for stable stacking without rolling, effectively doubling loading and unloading efficiency.
5. Low-Noise Hydraulic Station: Optional water-cooling or air-cooling systems prevent overheating during continuous operation, making it suitable for recycling centers located near urban areas.
6. Compact and Robust Structure: The welded frame undergoes aging treatment and features a fatigue-resistant design, ensuring structural integrity and preventing deformation during long-term use.
1. Foundry Pre-furnace Charging: Octagonal, high-density bales can be charged directly into medium-frequency induction furnaces or cupolas, offering rapid melting and low burn-off rates.
2. Scrap Metal Logistics Hubs: Compresses light/thin scrap and loose material into uniform bales, increasing container or truck loading efficiency by over 30%.
3. Containerized Export Shipping: Octagonal bales (300mm across the flats) stack neatly, allowing for several additional tons per container and significantly reducing per-unit shipping costs.
4. Small-to-Medium Recycling Yards: An ideal choice for facilities with limited space and daily processing volumes of 10–30 tons, offering an excellent return on investment.
We offer flexible OEM/ODM customization solutions:
1. Customizable compression chamber dimensions: Chamber length, width, and height can be adjusted based on material characteristics (e.g., aluminum cans, sheet metal, metal shavings, or light/thin scrap);
2. Motor and voltage compatibility: Supports various voltage standards such as 380V/50Hz and 440V/60Hz, ensuring hassle-free export;
3. Customizable discharge direction: Left or right discharge options available to suit site layout requirements;
4. Branding/Private labeling: Machine body color, logos, and nameplates can be customized according to client specifications.
