The Q43-100 alligator shear is a hydraulically driven cold shear specifically designed for long and large-volume scrap steel materials. With a rated shearing force of 100 tons (1000KN), it is a small, mainstay model in the Q43 series. This equipment utilizes a biomimetic jaw shearing principle, using a hydraulic pump station to drive the shearing cylinder and clamping cylinder in coordinated operation, achieving precise clamping and efficient cutting of metal materials.
This model is specifically optimized for processing irregularly shaped long and thin scrap steel such as automotive catalytic converter housings, exhaust pipes, and scrapped car doors. The effective blade length can reach 600–1000mm, with a maximum opening height of 350mm, capable of processing conventional small to medium-sized metal structural parts in a single operation. The machine is equipped with an 11KW three-phase motor, with a hydraulic system working pressure ≤22MPa and a stable shearing frequency of 8–10 cuts/minute, balancing processing efficiency and energy economy.
The equipment adopts an integral welded frame structure, and key load-bearing components undergo heat treatment to ensure structural stability under long-term high-load conditions. The hydraulic circuit integrates rapid pressure relief and overload protection functions, and together with the high-response three-way cartridge valve assembly, the shearing action is more stable and controllable.

The above parameters are for reference only. The shears can be customized.
1. Foundation-free installation: No concrete foundation or anchor bolts are required; the equipment is ready for operation once positioned and connected to power, significantly reducing initial infrastructure investment.
2. Compact footprint: The unit is lightweight and compact, saving valuable workspace.
3. Low-noise hydraulic system: Compared to mechanical shears, the hydraulic drive offers lower inertia, reduced noise, and smooth operation, resulting in clean, neat shear cuts.
4. Four-sided reversible blades: The shear blades are made of high-alloy die steel and undergo quenching and tempering; they are reversible on all four sides, allowing the cutting edge to be rotated when one side wears out, thereby extending service life.
1. End-of-Life Vehicle Dismantling Centers
The Q43-100 alligator shear is one of the core pre-processing equipment in end-of-life vehicle dismantling lines. It can quickly cut components such as the three-way catalytic converter housing, exhaust pipes, door frames, and hoods, converting long strips of scrap steel generated from vehicle dismantling into standard furnace charge sizes for subsequent magnetic separation, sorting, and briquetting.
2. Scrap Steel Recycling Plants
At scrap steel recycling stations, this machine is used to process various types of scrap steel acquired from the community, including corrugated steel sheets, iron drums, steel pipes, and rebar briquettes. Through cold shearing, irregular scrap materials are cut into uniform specifications, increasing stacking density, reducing transportation costs, and meeting the stringent requirements of steel mills for furnace charge sizes.
3. Smelting and Foundry Enterprises: Small and medium-sized foundries and electric arc furnace steelmaking workshops use the Q43-100 alligator shears to cut recycled structural steel (round steel, square steel, angle steel, channel steel, I-beams) and metal structural parts into short pieces that conform to the furnace opening size, improving smelting efficiency and reducing the number of charging operations and heat loss.
4. Non-ferrous Metal Sorting: This equipment is also suitable for cold shearing of non-ferrous metals such as copper pipes, aluminum profiles, and stainless steel plates. Combined with sorting processes, it enables the separate recycling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
